A
Supplemental Service to Face-to-Face Tutoring
for English and Math
This
service is provided as a supplement to face-to-face
tutoring, but does not take the place of a live
tutoring session. It is a convenience for those who cannot make it to campus
for some reason but who
may have a quick question for one of our tutors.
If
we do not have a tutor available at the time your
email is received at the Center we will reply to
your
request as soon as one becomes available. We will try but cannot guarantee
to respond to your e-mail
within 24 hours. We do not access e-mail on weekends, vacation breaks or in
the summer. Check the
college schedule for the current dates.

on "How does E-mail Tutoring work?" BEFORE
you
can E-mail your questions to our tutors.
How
Does This Process Work?
1.
A) By clicking your mouse on the "E-Mail Your
Question to a Tutor!!" link below, you will
link to the
Student Agreement page. Please read "The Tutee's Agreement" before
you click the E-mail button to
send your e-mail us.
B)
Select either "English" or "Math" the
subject heading line of the e-mail message you
are creating
put "Math," or "English" and include your course number.
As an example, type in "Math 150B". This
is mandatory so that the tutor can log your course number into the College's
TimeKeeper system.
Also, this enables us to quickly direct your question to the appropriate tutor.
C)
Next type in your current student permanent number
in the field provided. We cannot tutor
you without this number. This will also be logged into the College TimeKeeper
system.
D)
In the field provided for your question, type in
your question. Try to be as brief as possible,
providing an example if the question seems complicated.
E)
If it is a question that we cannot answer, we will
e-mail you the reason why.
F)
If the tutor is checking e-mail when you send your
question, s/he
may be able to answer you at that time. You may ask follow-up questions.
If the tutor is not at the computer when you send your e-mail, s/he will reply
to you later that day.
G)
Please include your entire question (and any written
paragraphs) in the e-mail form.
The form is NOT set up to send an attachment.
2.
